At Evolution Empowerment Services, we understand that mental health is a complex and multifaceted aspect of a person's life. Our second program, the Akili Wellness Project, adopts a progressive and innovative approach to mental health by integrating ancestral wisdom and evidence-based practices. By acknowledging the importance of cultural background in mental health, we can better tailor our services and make them more accessible to diverse communities. With "Akili" meaning "mind" in Swahili, the Akili Wellness Project emphasizes the immense power of the human mind and its capacity for healing.
In addition, our M.O.M. (Mothers of Men) Educational and Support Group serves a unique and essential purpose: it provides a safe space for single mothers of male children. Navigating single motherhood is no easy feat, and we recognize the specific challenges that come with raising boys. By offering an educational and support group, we aim to empower these mothers, promoting resilience, and fostering a sense of community among them.
